Youth Outreach  in Science Technology Engineering and Math

Youth Outreach in STEM is a nonprofit organization whose aim is to empower underserved students nationally by educating them through hands-on STEM experiences and engage them in STEM through independent ownership, to facilitate a competitive advantage in the marketplace, build wealth and positively impact society. Some of our projects include 3D design and printing, robotics, coding, and various chemistry and engineering projects just to name a few. YO-STEM has 3-flagship programs where we expose students to STEM: Girls in STEM (gSTEM), STEM Saturday, and competitive co-ed Robotics club. We want students to have a fun experience exploring the vast range of what STEM has to offer.

Who is YO-STEM

Our Learning Outcomes

The learning outcomes for our programs are as follows:

• Utilized and improve 21st century skills of communication, technology, collaboration, leadership, time management, problem solving and critical thinking.

• Increase self-confidence in tackling science classes and projects.

• Ability to make connections from classroom to real life applications in STEM.

What We Do

Girls in STEM (gSTEM)

Each program consists of its own weekly theme and activities, so your child has something new to anticipate with each week.

Robotics

You’ll be able to utilize or recycle supplies you already have at home to complete lesson activities. We’ll provide you with alternative options as well.

STEM Saturday

Our programs are curated for two different age groups, so every lesson offers the appropriate level of engagement for your little ones.

STEM Careers

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2022, in 2021, there were nearly 10 million workers engaged in STEM occupations, with this figure projected to surge by almost 11% by 2031. It is further forecasted that the number of STEM jobs will escalate at double the rate of non-STEM careers. Recognizing this trend, there are numerous avenues for students to explore within STEM fields to ignite their interest, bridge the gap, and foster prosperous careers. By embracing STEM education and career pathways, we can not only cultivate success for individuals but also stimulate economic growth and generate wealth for our communities.
